I am Mestre Rolando (pronounced “Ho-lond-o” in Brazilian Portuguese). I have been practicing capoeira for over 25 years. I am a student of Mestre Wagner “Vaughino” Bueno from São Paulo, Brazil. My Mestre has taught in San Jose since 1989.

I am an avid martial artist, as Bruce Lee was my idol when I was young. I started out with Karate, Wing Chun Kung-Fu, and Tai-Chi. But I took my first capoeira class in 1997 in SJSU, and I fell in love with it!! I’ve been training with Mestre Vaguinho since 2000.

Capoeira is an extraordinary art, I want to share this art to those who want to learn.
